Banc d’Arguin National Park, a designated World Heritage Site, is located along the north-western coast of Mauritania. Covering a vast area of 12,000 km², the park includes sand dunes, small islands, and coastal waters. Offshore, the meeting of warm and cold currents creates rich feeding grounds for migratory birds, making it a famous wintering site and a designated Ramsar wetland.
