Copernicus Sentinel-2

On January 6, 2022, a south coast low-pressure system brought snowfall to a wide area of the Kanto region, and in the afternoon, the first heavy snowfall warning in four years had issued for the 23 wards of Tokyo.
This image shows Tokyo as imaged by Sentinel-2 on January 7, 2022.

A greenish-blue roof can be seen around the Imperial Palace, slightly to the left of the center of the image. Below it, a red dot can be seen, probably the Tokyo Tower.
From this, it can be guessed that there was less snowfall, especially in the central Tokyo area, compared to four years ago (January 23, 2018).
In fact, according to JMA records, Tokyo had 10 cm of snowfall, less than half of the 23 cm recorded in 2018, which we previously introduced.
