Participants from Bangladesh Learn about Remote Sensing for NSDI

RESTEC welcomed 9 participants from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on June 2.
They learned about the latest basic knowledge on remote sensing and its applications to understand the concept and benefits of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).
One of the lecturers from RESTEC also introduced the digital elevation model (DEM) derived from Japanese satellite data (PRISM), which is very useful for mapping. This product is the so called “AW3D” and covers the whole globe with a 5m mesh.
This lecture is a part of the “Project for Strengthen the Capacity on Advanced Mapping of SOB for Building Digital Bangladesh,” organized by Asia Air Survey Co., Ltd. (AAS) and funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
