Botswanan trainees learn about SAR data for forest monitoring
RESTEC welcomed three trainees from Botswana for three days from December 15 to 17, 2015. They learned about basic knowledge and techniques to handle the data obtained by Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) for forest management.
Their visit was a part of The the Project for Enhancing National Forest Monitoring System for the Promotion of Sustainable Natural Resource Management, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and organized by Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. They stayed in Japan from December 1 to 18 to obtain expertise and skills for the Botswanan forest monitoring system, of which remote sensing is one of the important components.
