RESTEC Participates in COP-21 in Paris
The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP21/CMP11, in Paris was closed on December 11, 2015. RESTEC participated in this very important conference as one of the NGOs.
RESTEC, in collaboration with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), exhibited contributions to climate change mitigation and adaptation by remote sensing. The exhibitions’ themes included monitoring of greenhouse gases, water cycle, and forests. One of the journalists from Japan visited our booth and introduced the ALOS-2 satellite and its advantages for forest monitoring on TV.
RESTEC also collaborated with the European Space Agency (ESA) to organize an official side event to introduce our contributions and plans for REDD+ by satellites. His Excellency the Hon. Greg Hunt MP, Australian Minister for the Environment, kindly joined and gave a speech at the event.
