Young Asian Trainees Finish RESTEC’s Training Program
RESTEC hosted 10 young trainees through the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (SAKURA Exchange Program in Science) run by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). The trainees stayed in Japan for 10 days and completed the entire training course provided by RESTEC.
10 trainees from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam visited Japan from October 19th through the 28th. As the trainees had a strong interest in the use of remote sensing techniques in the agricultural field in their home countries, RESTEC arranged a program on agricultural usage.
Mr. Komine, the Mayor of Hatoyama Town, kindly visited the trainees to meet with them while they were staying in town to attend the remote sensing lectures.
This is the second time RESTEC has received financial support through the SAKURA Exchange Program in Science. The JST established the program in 2014 to enhance exchanges between the youth of Asia and Japan who will play a crucial role in the field of science and technology in the future.
