The JICA training course titled “Satellite Remote Sensing Data Analysis Technology for Disaster/Environmental Monitoring” started at the Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan (RESTEC) on Aug. 6, 2012, and it will be continued to Sept. 7, 2012.

In this training course, the participants will acquire necessary technology and skills for SAR data analysis and become able to share precious information for disaster/environmental monitoring with related organizations.

This year 10 participants from 9 countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Vanuatu) are attending the training.

The curriculum consists of lectures and hands-on training for “Principle and analysis method of SAR and other data”, “Basic and advanced processing of SAR data”, and “Analysis of SAR data for applications & Integrated use of the analysis result and map information”

RESTEC will assist and support the participants to achieve their goal.
