1. RESTEC to Dispatch Three Lecturers to South Africa

Upon request from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA),
RESTEC will dispatch three scientists to South Africa to provide
lectures on satellite data utilization in agricultural application.
The training will be held on 4 to 6 October 2016 in the collaboration
with the South African National Space Agency (SANSA).

2. Participants from Afghanistan Learn about Remote Sensing for Water Resource Management

RESTEC welcomed 16 participants from the Water Resources
Department(WRD) of the Ministry of Energy and Water of the Islamic
Republic of Afghanistan in a seminar held on 3rd August 2016. They
learned about the latest basic knowledge on remote sensing and its
applications to understand the concept and utilize it in their
activities…

3. Peruvian Trainees Learn about Forest Remote Sensing

RESTEC arranged a remote sensing training course on forest monitoring
and the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) for four trainees from Peru.
They stayed in Japan for two weeks as a part of the “Project on
Capacity Development for Forest Conservation and REDD+ Mechanisms”
funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and
conducted by Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. and Kokusai Kogyo Co., Ltd.
