1. Twenty Three Africans Join Training Workshop at RESTEC

RESTEC conducted “MEXT-JAXA Satellite Data Training Workshop in Japan” from November 15th to 20th 2015. Twenty three participants from ten African countries – Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe – completed the entire training program….

The Japanese Earth Resources Satellite-1 (JERS-1) products are open to the public with free of charge from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

4. Young Asian Trainees Finish RESTEC's Training Program

RESTEC hosted 10 young trainees through the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (SAKURA Exchange Program in Science) run by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). The trainees stayed in Japan for 10 days and completed the entire training course provided by RESTEC….

5. RESTEC Supports JICA Training for SAR Interferometry in SA

On November 10 to 13, 2015, a remote sensing training course on SAR Interferometry was held in Pretoria, South Africa. The training course was funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in collaboration with the South African National Space Agency (SANSA)….

6. Managing Director of South African Space Agency visits RESTEC

Dr. Jane Olwoch, Managing Director of Earth Observation Department, the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) visited RESTEC on November 2nd, 2015. RESTEC conducted a one month remote sensing training course in August and September 2015 for seven trainees from South Africa including SANSA….
